Our Story

Richelle’s Heart Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, was founded in 2021 by Kendra Williams in loving memory of her mother, Richelle Johnson Williams.

Richelle was a woman defined by her faith, love, and unwavering commitment to her family and community. She was known for her generosity, wisdom, and her ability to uplift those around her. Whether offering guidance, encouragement, or simply being present, Richelle was a pillar of strength and support for all who knew her. She instilled in her daughters, Kendra and her younger sister, Querhea (Q) Alexander, the importance of resilience, life skills, and the understanding that there is more than one path to success. Those lessons became the foundation for something greater. Today, her legacy lives on through Richelle’s Heart.

Richelle’s Heart was created to carry forward the love, values, and guidance that Richelle poured into others—transforming them into opportunities for communities. What began as a vision rooted in personal legacy has grown into a movement dedicated to uplifting individuals of all ages.

Our mission is simple yet powerful:
Providing resources for community growth, higher education, and healthy living—while inspiring all generations to pursue a brighter future.

Based in Fort Worth, Texas, Richelle’s Heart was founded in the Lake Como community—where its impact first began. While deeply rooted in Lake Como, the organization is committed to expanding its reach to serve communities throughout Fort Worth and beyond, with a vision to impact cities across Texas and the nation.

One of Richelle’s Heart’s most impactful initiatives is the annual Lake Como Juneteenth Celebration, a signature event that honors freedom, preserves cultural heritage, and brings communities together across generations. This work has received both local and national recognition.

Richelle’s Heart has been honored with the Fort Worth Mayor’s Spirit of Fort Worth Award in 2022 and 2023, and in 2023, received national recognition through the Neighborhoods, USA (NUSA) Conference, earning the title of National Neighborhood of the Year for its outstanding community impact.

Through strong partnerships with organizations such as Como Lions Heart and other community leaders, Richelle’s Heart continues to expand its impact through programs and events, including the Youth Conference, Mother’s Day Luncheon, Back to School Fair, Halloween Fall Festival, Women’s Conference, and the Jingle & Mingle Christmas Celebration.

At its core, Richelle’s Heart is about more than programs and events—it is about people. It is about creating opportunities, building connections, and ensuring that no one feels unsupported. It is about equipping individuals with the tools, knowledge, and confidence they need to grow, succeed, and give back.

Because when one person is empowered, an entire community is strengthened. And through Richelle’s Heart, that impact continues—from Fort Worth to communities far beyond.
