Our Story

Richelle’s Heart Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, was founded in 2021 by Kendra Williams in loving memory of her mother, Richelle Johnson Williams. Richelle was a woman defined by her faith, love, and commitment to her family and community. Known for her generosity and wisdom, she was a pillar of support for everyone she encountered. Richelle instilled in her daughters, Kendra and her younger sister, Querhea (Q) Alexander, the importance of life skills, resilience, and the belief that there are many paths to success. Her legacy continues through Richelle’s Heart, which serves to pass on the values, knowledge, and care that Richelle embodied to others.

At Richelle’s Heart, our mission is simple yet profound: "Providing resources for community growth, higher education, and healthy living. Inspiring all generations to pursue a brighter future." We strive to create opportunities for lifelong learning, health, and community engagement.

Since our founding, Richelle’s Heart has become a key partner in the Lake Como community, notably organizing the annual Lake Como Juneteenth Celebration. This event honors the importance of freedom and preserves the rich history of the Lake Como community. Our celebration has received recognition with the prestigious 2022 and 2023 Fort Worth Mayor’s Award for Spirit of Fort Worth, and in 2023, we proudly brought home the National Neighborhood of the Year award from the Neighborhoods USA Conference for Social Revitalization/Neighborliness in a Single Neighborhood.

In partnership with local organizations like Como Lions Heart, we extend our impact through events such as the Youth Conference, Mother's Day Luncheon, Back to School Fair, Halloween Fall Festival, Women’s Conference, and Jingle and Mingle.

At Richelle’s Heart, we believe that by providing the right resources and guidance, every individual and every generation can unlock their potential and build a brighter, more empowered future.
